In addition to its extensive in-house inventory, the company provides custom fabricated components from its Houston location and has a solid history of providing high temperature and corrosion resistant parts to the specialty chemical industry.

Indian Mill, based in Houston, Texas, is a leading manufacturer and marketer of 2×10 wood plank used in scaffolding throughout the world. The Company’s product portfolio includes three types of wood scaffold planking as well as a scaffold plank testing machine. The Company improves the characteristics of standard planking by inserting twisted steel pins to reduce a wood plank’s tendency to cup, warp, and split and to enhance the ability of the plank to carry greater loads.

Warfab provides heavy industrial repair, maintenance, fabrication, and machining services, both in-house and in the field, for customers across the industrial sector with specific focus on the mining, heavy steel, railcar, and energy segments. The company is based in Hallsville, Texas with branch offices in Miami, Florida and Gillette, Wyoming servicing customers in the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Morocco. Warfab is an industry leader in the servicing of draglines and other mining equipment.

Palmer Companies provides fabrication, repair, and maintenance services in the industrial market, focused primarily on processes where high pressure, heat, and corrosion are challenges. Headquartered in Camden, Tennessee (with a satellite operation in Saucier, Mississippi), Palmer provides both in-plant services and offsite fabrication and repair services.

Cyclone Steel Services is a value-added processor of steel plate with a reputation for quality, reliability, and traceability of flame-cut steel plate processing services to the oil and gas, petrochemical, and other end markets. Located in Houston, Texas, Cyclone stocks a range of steel plate grades in various thicknesses. The company custom cuts, bends, rolls, welds, and machines steel plate ranging in thickness from 3/16” to 16”, lengths up to 58’, and widths up to 16’.

Selling under the BodyBilt brand, ErgoGenesis is a national leader in ergonomic office equipment, primarily seating. Headquartered in Navasota, Texas, the company goes to market through a direct selling model, competing head-to-head with the nation’s largest office furniture manufacturers. Producing a product made in the USA, the BodyBilt brand is known for its high-quality furniture and strong customer support.

Formwork is an industry-leading independent provider of complete concrete forming and shoring solutions to the industrial, petrochemical, water treatment, power, infrastructure, sports, medical, and commercial building construction markets. Formwork primarily utilizes a company-owned rental fleet, uniquely comprised of the full spectrum of equipment from well-recognized concrete forming and shoring manufacturers. The Formwork value proposition is excellent customer service through several stages of the concrete forming process.

Realized/Exited Investments

PBS Lumber Manufacturing, LLC was a lumber manufacturer located in Winnfield, LA in north central Louisiana. PBS manufactured dimension lumber from 2×4 to 2×12. The manufacturing facility included a sawmill, kiln, and planer capable of producing 110-120 million board feet annually running two shifts. Major end users included residential home builders, treaters, repair and remodeling contractors, and construction companies which consume dimension lumber. Freestone exited this business in 2013.

Sweet Leaf Tea Company was an Austin, Texas based producer of a variety of bottled, ready-to-drink iced teas sold to consumers through grocery and other retail outlets. The products were 100% natural with no artificial ingredients. The non-diet teas were certified as USDA Organic. The company used the highest-quality organic, natural ingredients including real cane sugar. Freestone exited this business in 2011.

Sunbelt Steel was a value-added distributor of steel round bar. Strong vendor relationships provided a competitive advantage to the company through access to unique alloy bar with limited production. Sunbelt processes included straightening, trepanning (drilling longitudinally to create heavy-wall tubular products), cutting to length and machining steel bar primarily for downhole drilling applications. While the Company sold some proprietary products, most sales were to tool manufacturers and machine shops for further manufacturing. Freestone exited this business in 2012.

Service Refrigeration, based in Humble, Texas (with offices in Dallas and Victoria, Texas), provided consulting, equipment sales, installation and service of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems. The company’s customers included grocery, food processing and distribution, chemical and other industrial companies as well as design/build contractors. Freestone exited this business in 2014.
